You are required to do your own work I can empathize with that student as it's how I felt for my dental anatomy course. We were left in the dark if we had no background in the dental field. Many deceived students attempt to sue not realizing teacher have tenure meaning they are untouchable. Once a teacher is granted tenure they can't be fired for any reasons. You have to be careful where you attend college and who you trust for your future success. This school wanted 3 year students for a 2 year program so they wouldn't teach the fundamentals behind the anatomy and science. For, example we were not taught the dental numbering charts and come exam time we were expected to know this without being taught! They didn't teach us we had to reverse everything the way we see it on the screen. You are required to score 75% or higher on everything or else you cannot continue. Once you score a 45% due to negligence you have to score 86% or lose everything. That means on a multiple choice exam you are given 4 right answers you have to pick the correct choice you can only get six answers wrong. Many of these exams were designs to fail students and had trick questions. The medical professional field is an entity on it's own. The minute you walk in everyone wants to kill you. It's important to form bonds with the good people to make it through the toughest first semester. Art school is also competitive and some of the professors are failed artists so they are miserable. I knew exactly who the distressed student was talking about the teacher could lecture but couldn't teach efficiently. He once told me that I wasn't smarter than a third grader. So, excuses are made and these professors continue on and you cant take it personal at all. This professor drove three hours from many states away to teach that didn't mean he was dedicated to the students. There was also a crime and he didn't take action and got into trouble for this. I was called in as a witness so you have to really be aware and understand you are on your own at college.
