My Favorite Ceramics

I was really proud of the ceramics that I made towards the end of my first semester back to college. My classmates told me that if I sold my last project pictured below as a set that they would buy them. One of the issues Art students struggle with is once they graduate they have no studio to work in. Sure, there are Art schools that are privately owned or businesses. But, nobody taught me about grants, art residencies, or how to make it in the Art industry. I know that I am not alone and I don't want to limit myself to Art Galleries. I actually want to be in the real world working with more than just photography. I hired a mentor to try to help me get my ideas out into the world with media exposure. She says people don't buy the Art they buy you so she teaches that being visible it is so important to our success. When I was in High School I took ceramics and my teacher said I was good and that I should take sculpture next year as I was advanced. But, I moved to Florida to this beautiful barrier island called Anna Maria Island to live with my Mom. The bowl ceramics were handmade by me and glazed by me and the cups were made on the wheel and glazed by me. I have a journal somewhere of this ceramics course along with a sculpture course from the college I transferred into.
